Plaster Coving and Cornice
Plaster coving and cornice is fixed in the wall to ceiling joint to finish off a plastered room.
It can also be used in recessed areas of a ceiling such as lighting troughs and coiffured ceilings.
There are many different types and sizes of cornice together with period designs, for example; Victorian, Georgian, Classical, Art Deco and Gothic to name but a few.
Cornice can be fibrous or solid ie: made on a bench or run in-situ.
Fibrous plaster is extremely fireproof and will improve the fire protection to a room as well as enhancing its appearance.
The coving or cornice does not necessarily have to follow any particular period design and can be installed to contemporary works with a clients own design leaving their own particular mark, creating their own unique design in their own home.
Cornice is only a small part of decorative and ornamental plasterwork for walls and ceilings, with a little thought and clever design the sky is the limit!
